Separate services, clear entitlements
Public tools are free and require no account. Course purchases grant access to the specific subjects and resources stated in the offer. A monthly private-tools subscription is a separate service. Use every feature lawfully and verify research findings independently. These terms do not remove statutory consumer rights.
1. Operator and agreement
Rodcha is operated by Thinkedu Pty Ltd, an Australian business. It is the international platform associated with Brad Lyons' investigation training and tools. Contact [email protected].
These terms apply to platform use and are supplemented by the course or subscription details provided before purchase. The checkout or registration process must provide an opportunity to review and accept the terms relevant to that transaction. Merely making an enquiry does not create a purchase contract.
Course or plan details state the actual inclusions, price, access period and any assessment or cancellation arrangements. Nothing in an additional policy overrides rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Accounts and eligibility
Accounts are for adult users aged 18 or over, unless we expressly agree another lawful arrangement. Registration requires your full name, email, phone number and a password. Provide accurate information, maintain current contact details and complete required email verification.
Keep passwords and verification credentials confidential, use only authorised account access and notify us promptly of suspected compromise. Accounts and paid access are personal to the named user unless a team or other licence has been expressly agreed. Do not share login access or circumvent account restrictions.
If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to make the agreement. Account holders remain responsible for their own lawful use. A directory display name may differ from the private account record where allowed by the profile rules.
3. Course purchases, payment and access
Each course offer states its title, learning content, price, delivery method, access duration, technical requirements, support, assessment and certificate conditions. Study times are estimates rather than a deadline or guaranteed completion time. Confirm suitability and any prerequisites before paying.
Prices are displayed in Australian dollars unless a checkout expressly states another currency. Displayed catalogue prices include GST where applicable. The total amount, applicable tax and any compulsory charges must be shown before commitment. Your bank or card issuer may apply exchange or international transaction fees outside our control.
Online payments use Stripe Checkout. Access is granted after confirmed successful payment, not solely because a browser returns from checkout. A purchase grants access only to the course or bundle paid for, for the duration in the offer. Access start and expiry information is provided through the account or confirmation message. A lifetime access offer must define what lifetime means before purchase.
Access periods vary by course and can be extended where agreed. A tools subscription does not replace a course purchase, and a course does not automatically include every premium tool. Course-specific student tools and resources are defined in its inclusions.
Future catalogue price changes do not alter an accepted purchase price. We will explain a material change to a purchased course, seek agreement where required and provide any cancellation or remedy required by law.
4. Optional monthly tools subscription
A private-tools subscription is separate from course purchases. You may subscribe without buying a course or buy courses without subscribing. The plan offer states its tools, features, price, currency, billing cycle and limits before you agree.
A recurring plan renews at the stated interval unless cancelled. Manage permitted upgrades, downgrades and cancellation through Stripe Customer Portal. The portal explains the effective date and any price adjustment or proration. Confirm the transaction there before changing a plan.
Cancellation normally prevents the next renewal and leaves access available until the end of the paid period unless the disclosed plan terms, a requested immediate cancellation or a statutory remedy provide otherwise. Cancelling a tools subscription does not by itself cancel a separately purchased course or remove course access already paid for.
If a payment fails, access may be restricted according to the disclosed plan rules after appropriate notice. We will explain material plan or renewal-price changes in advance and provide a practical opportunity to cancel. Subscription terms cannot override consumer remedies.
5. Public and private research tools
Public utilities assist query building, formatting, lookup navigation and research workflow. A username launcher does not prove a profile exists. A phone variant does not confirm assignment or ownership. A domain lookup does not establish control. No output should be treated as a verified fact without appropriate corroboration.
Some utilities process input locally. Other private or provider-backed tools may send a query, file or identifier to the disclosed service used for that feature. Read the feature instructions and privacy notice before supplying information. Opening an external link is your choice and subjects the query to that provider's terms.
Private features are available only while the required subscription, course or other entitlement is valid. Access limits, credits, permitted use or other material restrictions must be stated before purchase. Tools must not be shared outside the agreed licence or used to bypass provider restrictions.
Tool outputs, including any AI-assisted output where offered, may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. They are research assistance, not legal advice, proof of identity or authority to make a consequential decision. Record the sources and apply human judgement.
6. Lawful purpose and prohibited conduct
Use Rodcha for lawful investigation, research and professional learning. You must assess the relevant laws, privacy obligations, professional licensing, platform terms and contractual duties. Information being public does not make every form of collection, contact, reuse or disclosure lawful.
Do not use the service to stalk, harass, intimidate, discriminate, publish private information without lawful authority, unlawfully impersonate another person, gain unauthorised system access or facilitate crime. Only submit information and material you are authorised to use. Do not place live case details or confidential third-party data in ordinary support messages.
Do not introduce malicious code, automate abusive requests, evade limits, share protected access or interfere with the service. Automated extraction of paid course content, commercial copying of protected material and reconstruction of a competing content library are not authorised. Ordinary public search indexing, accessibility technology and uses permitted by law are not prohibited.
7. Learning, assessment and certificates
Follow the course requirements and assessment rules supplied before or during enrolment. Work must be your own unless collaboration or assistance is expressly allowed. Any use of AI assistance in an assessment must follow that course's rules.
Where completion requirements are met and the course includes a certificate, a certificate of completion is issued through the course process. Automated issuance does not remove the right to raise an error or request review of a relevant completion decision.
A certificate records completion of the stated requirements. Unless expressly stated and supported for a course, it is not a nationally recognised qualification, licence, regulatory approval or external professional accreditation. Training does not guarantee employment, registration or a particular investigation result.
We can correct administrative certificate errors. If a certificate is issued in error or obtained through substantiated misconduct, we may correct or withdraw it after giving the reasons and a reasonable opportunity to respond. A verification feature must identify what certificate information it discloses.
8. Opt-in student directory
A directory profile is published only when you explicitly opt in. Select the permitted information you want shown and ensure it is accurate, lawful and yours to publish. Do not claim licences, qualifications or endorsements you do not hold.
Directory publication is not our endorsement, identity check or guarantee of professional suitability. Visitors must conduct their own due diligence before engaging a listed person. We may moderate or remove a profile for a genuine policy, accuracy or legal concern and provide a reasonable review avenue where practical.
You can withdraw visibility through account settings or support. Public content can be indexed or copied, so removal from Rodcha cannot guarantee removal from external caches. Do not publish another person's contact or case information without appropriate authority.
9. Consumer rights, refunds and cancellation
Services carry rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies, including due care and skill, fitness for an applicable disclosed purpose and supply within an agreed or reasonable time. Mandatory rights under other applicable laws also remain available. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
For a major service failure, applicable rights may include cancelling the affected agreement with an appropriate refund or keeping it with a price reduction. A failure that is not major must be appropriately remedied within a reasonable time. Further remedies may apply if it is not resolved. Compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss may also be available.
Contact [email protected] with purchase details, the problem and the outcome you seek. We may reasonably assess the issue. We will not impose a blanket no-refunds rule, remove statutory remedies because material was accessed, or require a credit instead of a refund where a refund is due.
Any additional change-of-mind policy is disclosed before purchase and honoured as agreed. Its time limit does not limit statutory remedies. Subscription cancellation and a refund request are different actions: stopping renewal does not determine whether you have a right to a refund for a faulty service.
If we cancel a course before supply, we will refund the service not provided. If a material service change is proposed, we will provide appropriate notice, seek consent where required and provide cancellation or refund rights required by law.
10. Content licences and intellectual property
Website and course material is owned by us or used with permission. Paid access grants the agreed learner or organisation a limited licence to use the supplied content for its permitted learning or professional purpose. It does not transfer ownership or authorise redistribution.
Do not sell, republish, share a substantial part of or build a competing product from protected content without permission, except where permitted by law. Templates or resources intended for professional reuse carry their own stated licence. Your own work remains yours. We use assessment submissions and feedback only as needed to provide and improve the service, subject to the privacy policy and applicable permissions.
We do not publish identifiable testimonials or case material without appropriate permission. Public utility outputs may be used for your lawful research, subject to the rights in any third-party material they reference.
11. Availability, restrictions and responsibility
Maintenance, faults or provider changes can interrupt availability. We take reasonable steps to maintain services and meet agreed obligations. A third-party change does not remove our responsibility to supply an agreed paid service or provide applicable remedies.
We may proportionately restrict access for a genuine security incident, unlawful conduct, payment issue or serious breach. Where practical and lawful, we explain the reason and give a reasonable opportunity to respond. Urgent action may be necessary to protect users or information. Paid access and refund rights remain subject to law and the agreement.
Training is educational, not case-specific legal or financial advice. You remain responsible for lawful application and appropriate verification. We do not guarantee a tracing, research or professional outcome. This does not excuse negligence, misdescription or failure to meet consumer guarantees. These terms do not impose an unlimited indemnity or a blanket liability waiver.
12. Privacy and international use
The privacy policy covers account, learning, subscription, tool and directory information. Additional feature notices explain specific provider processing. For international use, you must consider the laws relevant to your location and research activity. Do not assume a method lawful in one jurisdiction is lawful in another.
13. Complaints, changes and applicable law
Send a concern to [email protected]. We will acknowledge it, review the matter fairly and aim to respond within 30 days. If more time is needed, we will explain why. You can seek help from a relevant regulator, consumer protection body, court or tribunal. No compulsory private arbitration is imposed by these terms.
We may update terms for future use. Updates do not retrospectively remove agreed purchase rights. Material changes to an ongoing paid service receive the notice, consent or remedy required by law.
Australian law applies subject to mandatory protections and jurisdictional rights available to you. If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions apply to the extent permitted by law.
